Creative Embodiment | Women's Retreat

  • Chariclo Alexandria, Scotland United Kingdom (map)

Come Home to Your Creative Nature

A five-day artistic immersion in the Heart of Scotland where creativity becomes a practice of remembering you. Through movement, art, nature, deep rest and heartfelt connection, you'll gently peel away layers of expectation and rediscover the freedom to create.

Slow mornings. Wild landscapes. Fireside evenings. Nourishing food. Spacious days.

For an intimate group of 7 women only.

Held with love by Sarah & Anna.

Bookings now open - get in touch below or at hello@chariclo.co to find out more.

There comes a moment when life asks us to slow down. To step away from the constant doing. To put down the roles we've been carrying. To remember who we are beneath the noise. Creative Embodiment is an invitation to return to yourself through movement, creativity, nature and deep rest.

Held on farmland by Loch Lomond, surrounded by mountains, woodland and water, this intimate retreat has been lovingly created for women longing to reconnect with their creative life force. Not to become someone new - but to remember the woman you've always been.

An experience to remember that creativity is your natural state. That your body is creative. That your intuition is creative. That your way of seeing the world is creative. Whether you haven't picked up a paintbrush in years, or creativity is already woven into your life, you are welcome here.

No artistic experience is needed. Only curiosity, a willingness to listen and a desire to come home.

Our Journey Together

Arrive → Descend → Feel → Express → Integrate

DAY 1

Arrive • Presence

Element: Wood

Quality: Being

We'll begin by slowing down - landing in the body, connecting with the land, meeting one another. Together we'll open our circle with ceremony, intention, gentle movement and deep rest, allowing ourselves to arrive fully before anything asks to be created.

DAY 2

Descend • Stillness

Element: Earth

Quality: Rootedness

Supported by silence and the Scottish landscape, we'll wander ancient glens, gather inspiration from nature, and work with clay - the earth itself shaped in our hands. Through embodied practice and spacious creative exploration, we'll soften the mind and reconnect with our instinctive way of making.

DAY 3

Feel •  Reflection

Element: Water

Quality: Feeling

Water invites reflection. A boat journey across Loch Lomond offers time to sketch, observe, breathe, and remember that nature is one of our greatest teachers. From there, we'll move into photography, journaling and emotional release practices, letting creativity emerge from honesty rather than perfection.

DAY 4

Play •  Expression

Element: Fire

Quality: Curiosity

As the week unfolds, something begins to shift. The inner critic quietens. Play returns. This day celebrates courage, joy and expression - movement, dance, fire, laughter - and space to be witnessed exactly as you playfully return to yourself.

Included within the retreat is a personal portrait experience with Anna (@docupoetry): an opportunity to be gently seen and beautifully captured in this chapter of your life.

DAY 5

Integrate • Inspiration

Element: Air

Quality: Clarity

Our final day is one of colour, intuitive painting, voice and celebration. In our closing circle, we'll honour everything that has emerged throughout the week with mantras, breathwork and sharing. You'll leave not simply with artworks or photographs, but with a deeper relationship to your own creative nature - and practical ways to continue nurturing it when you return home.

A Day at Chariclo

Wake slowly to birdsong and the morning light spilling across Loch Lomond and the mountains outside the window.

Journal with a warm cup of tea before joining the group for a nourishing seasonal breakfast.

Move your body through gentle movement and settle into quiet meditation.

Spend the day exploring wild landscapes, creating with your hands, swimming in fresh water, gathering inspiration and sharing nourishing meals prepared by our in-house chef.

Read by the fireside.

Recharge in the wood-fired hot tub.

Watch the light change over the mountains.

As evening falls, gather around the fire with a group of women.

Some nights are more restful - filled with poetry, conversation and reflection.

Others become celebrations — with music, dance, laughter and song.

There is nowhere else you need to be.

This Retreat Is For You If...

You long to reconnect with your creativity.

You feel you've spent too long caring for everyone else.

You're craving spaciousness.

You want to move more slowly.

You want to spend time in nature and connect to the land and animals.

You miss making things simply for the joy of it.

You'd love to be surrounded by women who value beauty, depth, honesty and wholehearted living.

You don't need to call yourself an artist.

You simply need to say yes to yourself.

Chariclo Retreat Space

Chariclo is a holistic retreat space nestled on farmland overlooking Loch Lomond, Scotland.

Rooted in nature, creativity and connection, it offers a peaceful sanctuary where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves and the natural world, and gather in community.

Inspired by the Greek archetype of Chariclo, whose quiet gift was holding sacred space for transformation, our intention is not to fix or change people, but to create the conditions where healing, creativity and remembering can naturally unfold.

Through retreats, workshops and seasonal gatherings, Chariclo invites us to remember a simpler way of living. One that honours the rhythms of nature, values community, and nurtures the wellbeing of both people and the Earth.

Annå Rieke

@annarieke.photography

Anna made the bold decision to move to Mexico and build a life around her favourite art: photography. As a documentary and portrait photographer, she relates deeply to culture and people, always searching for that one moment of magic and authenticity. With her project SOMOS, she invites people to connect through photography and build a new sense of community.

Mexico embroidered the fabric of her being: becoming a dancer within a traditional dance culture, learning the healing arts, and sharing Reiki reshaped her cosmovision ~ and inspired her to share from a new place of connection.

Sarah Buchanan

@saraswati.kundalini

Sarah is a creative facilitator, holistic practitioner and the founder of Chariclo.

She creates intentional, intimate spaces where women can reconnect with themselves through movement, nature, creativity and community. Her work weaves together Kundalini Yoga, meditation, energy healing, embodied practices and years of experience within the creative industries, offering a gentle invitation back to the wisdom of the body and the freedom of authentic self-expression.

Having spent many years living a fast-paced life searching for fulfilment through achievement and outward success, Sarah knows what it feels like to lose touch with your own voice. Returning to her ancestral land by Loch Lomond marked the beginning of a different way of living - one guided by the rhythms of nature, creativity and a deep commitment to inner healing.

Her approach is gentle, spacious and deeply nourishing, inviting participants to move beyond perfectionism and into presence. Sarah encourages creativity as a practice of remembering rather than achieving.

At Chariclo, Anna and Sarah hold the week together - leading workshops, meditations and ceremonies side by side. Anna and Sarah crossed paths in Mexico in 2024, and there was an instant soul recognition. Sharing the same dharma of creating community, shaping awareness, and living artistic lives, they dreamt about this retreat in Scotland ever since. Now, it's finally coming to life!
